Gym Discomfort Solved: Just Bring Fitness at Home
It’s that time of the year when new year’s resolutions are made with hopes skyrocketing, praying for your wishes to come true and for you to have enough determination and strong will to achieve your goals. Probably the most commonly made promise to ourselves this time of the year is getting fitter and more athletic than we used to be. In an era like this one when almost everything is possible, nothing should stand in the way of achieving your goals. At least your fitness ones. It’s time to think outside the box and create your own gym to blow off some steam and fill yourself with positive vibes.
This may seem crazy at first, but allow me to explain why creating your own gym at home is the best idea ever. Working out at home has many benefits over working out in a gym. Some are rather obvious, while others not quite. Luckily for you, I’m here to give you a rundown of the reasons why you should work out at home, and all the benefits that come along with it. All you have to do is visit a fitness equipment shop online and order a few pieces of basic gym equipment. It is as simple as that.
My number one reason for working out at home instead of in a gym is privacy. I look at training like I look at masturbation – I can’t really do it when there are other people in the room, or in the house for that matter. Being half-naked, sweating and grunting when I’m lifting small weights is not something I want other people to see. Plus, there are no distractions, which is a big plus for me. I don’t want to feel insecure because of the buffed guy benching 125kg while I’m barely pulling 60kg, which is not the only thing I feel insecure about. I’m talking about my muscles, of course.
My number two reason is freedom. I play whatever music I want, not what’s hot on the radio. I don’t want to lift while listening to Hotline Bling. I want to lift to Onyx, or M.O.P – music that lifts me up, not make me question my past relationship decisions. Moreover, a lot of gyms are enforcing rules on how much time you can spend at their gym per day, which is the worst idea ever since Napoleon tried to invade Russia in the winter.
And last but not least, you’re the biggest guy in your gym. You are the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the basement. You feel good, and with a little help from decent lighting and Instagram filters, you’ll also look good on your photos, which should be enough motivation to keep you going. There won’t be excuses such as “it’s too hot/too cold to go to the gym”, “it takes me too much time to go and get back from the gym”, and all the other excuses that people who don’t really want to work out constantly make.
The truth is, buying home gym equipment from a fitness equipment shop may seem pricey at first, but in the long run you will save money on gas and gym memberships. Plus, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and will get to work out in the comfort of your own home. Go hard and stay at home.
